What are Chakras?

The Word Chakra means “Wheel”.  Chakras are multi-dimensional energy centres in our body.  Chakras affect our perceptions, feelings and choices.  They affect the flow and quality of thoughts we have, and the amount of energy we give to those thoughts.  Prana “the life force” flows through the Chakras.  Yoga and Meditation facilitates the cleansing and balancing of the Chakras; hence maximizing the functioning of body, mind and spirit.  Chakras need to be kept balanced in order to enjoy a fulfilling life.

In the Chart below, you will see summarized information on the following 7 Chakras in the body; starting from the bottom the Chakras are as follows:

  1. ROOT CHAKRA
  2. SACRAL (SPLENIC/SACRUM) CHAKRA
